Baby Travel Checklist: What to Pack

For a time being, visualise your hands full of a heavy suitcase and a crying baby. Traveling with the baby is challenging and it’s important to be well-prepared for the journey ahead. Every transport mode comes with unique challenges. Your aim should be to get prepared ahead of time for a fun and successful travel experience. Also, to keep yourself and the child comfortable and safe. Here are a few tips to help you!

Baby Travel Checklist

There is one simple rule of thumb – keep the luggage light to make your travel journey easier. Nothing can be more grueling than taking along a bunk of junk everywhere you go. Even packing and unpacking the luggage is quite hectic. Consider your mobility requirements and pack accordingly. Keep in mind that babies do not require a lot of stuff. All they need is love, food, diapers, and a peaceful place to sleep. A diaper backpack and a carry-on will get the job done. Let’s take a look at the baby travel checklist:

  • The diaper is something that your baby will need more often – carry as many as required.
  • Carry a few zip lock bags in case you cannot dispose of a dirty diaper.
  • Baby care items including diaper cream, baby wipes, ointment for any allergies, baby shampoo, towel, bibs, etc.
  • Baby clothes and shoes, though not to carry a lot of items. Full-coverage outfits make a better choice. Don’t forget to bring a small blanket and a pacifier.
  • First aid kit – Carry the specific medicines such as ibuprofen and acetaminophen once you consult the pediatrician.
  • An easy to carry and compact foldable baby stroller or a baby carrier to help you travel around conveniently while keeping the child close to you and protected.

How about Nanny Services?

You may want to consider nanny or local baby services if you are looking forward to the couple’s time. Some people may not be comfortable doing this while others are. It is more likely to be your personal preference. If you are traveling with a newborn, you cannot take them to every place most probably, and having a helping hand will make your experience better.
